Cooking Tips from Chef Kate: Mise En Place

Utensils_FormChef Kate has a wealth of helpful little tips that make a big difference in the kitchen. Take a look at this week’s helpful tips and try applying them to your kitchen experience.

Ingredients & Prep:

“Mise En Place…French word, (since I graduated from a French culinary school), meaning, get all your ingredients together and ready to roll!!!!!”

Cooking:

gemüsekorb“Anytime you use raw onions in a cold salad, guacamole, salsa, etc., be sure to rinse the onions under cold water first then blot or shake from a strainer to rid the water residue. This will get rid of the sulfurous gas that can make your salad or salsa taste too potent.”
