From tasty sandwiches, wraps and salads to custom-cut steaks and fresh deli salads, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Our wonderful kitchen staff is lead by kitchen manager, Chef Kate. Kate has a wealth of cooking experience and she’s ready to have us share some of her best cooking tips here on our blog. But before we do, we thought you might like to get to know her better.
Here’s a bit more about Kate’s background and how she came to join us at HCM:
Chef Kate’s, “LONG STORY SHORT”
Kate Coronado, the chef and manager of Hill Country Market’s kitchen, has been a part of the company since April, 2014. During her high school years, Kate developed an interest in cooking through her Home Economics class where they focused mainly on different areas of culinary arts. From there she has worked in many different restaurants starting from the front of the house, leading to the back of the house.
After many years of married life and being a stay-at-home mom, she finally decided that it was time to attend a french culinary school and achieve her degree. Since her graduation, she has worked at many fine establishments starting in the banquet kitchens of hotels, to fine dining and casual restaurants, and then gradually arriving at Hill Country Market as their chef.
Chef Kate emphasizes using fresh ingredients in her cooking. She also helps provide catering for corporate and private events, holiday parties, and for their monthly wine tasting events.
From her interest in cooking to managing a kitchen, Kate has come a long way to becoming what she has always desired. A Chef.
